Get To Know Me
How has your particular field of specialization evolved in recent years and how has that impacted your work?
I specialize in treating adult children of toxic family systems including enmeshing, codependent, neglectful, abusive, addicted, undermining, adversarial, and scapegoating dynamics as well as other unhealthy patterns and dysfunctional behavior. I also enjoy working with survivors of religious abuse and marginalization due to sexual orientation and gender identity. Some of my other areas of specialty include burnout, narcissistic abuse recovery, and self esteem. I am fully bilingual and welcome Latinos seeking someone familiar with their language and culture.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I really value authenticity in my life and work so my personality and approach are very closely tied together. My approach is insightful and direct. Additionally, clients have told me that my style of relating comes across as very authentic, conversational, and supportive.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
The trial and error of trying different therapists can be exhausting, but it's so worth it when you find your fit.

Work HistoryBefore going to grad school I had a job as a mental health tech at a detox/rehab/crisis stabilization unit. While getting my master's, I interned at two community mental health centers. Once I graduated, I worked as a therapist for traumatized adolescents as part of a grant based program that allowed us to do house visits and experiential outings (field trips basically). Afterward, a new position was created for me to be the appointed therapist for a step down program that treated psychiatric patients recently discharged from Northeast Florida State Hospital in Macclenny. Afterward I worked briefly for the same company as a case manager before switching jobs in order to focus on individual clinical work. At this point I was licensed and coming into my own as an individual therapist will a full caseload. Once I was ready to move on, I opened my current private practice focusing on individuals struggling with a variety of conditions and life situations.
