Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I began undergrad with the goal to learn new and better ways of helping those who needed it the most and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Development from Virginia Tech in 2012. Wanting to pursue a more directed path toward this same goal, I decided to go to law school in San Francisco to put more of an emphasis on diverse communities and public interest. While in law school, I was particularly interested in Constitutional and Family Law; looking more closely at underrepresented and marginalized individuals and groups. After passing the California Bar, I then went on to practice Criminal Defense and Employment Law. While these fields opened up opportunities for me to help those who were in need, I became frustrated with the lack of consistent focus on the clients themselves. That being the case, I decided to go back to school (yet again) and complete my MSW through Fordham University.
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I am a big proponent of "keepin' it real." It has been my experience that oftentimes people do want honesty, even when it's not exactly how they would choose to understand a situation. I strive to offer a space where transparency is key, while incorporating thoughtful approaches to different situations.

Education
Fordham University, Master of Social Work, Clinical Social Work, 2020 — Throughout my program, I focused on clinical practice, training to provide evidence-based therapy, mental health support, and advocacy for individuals, families, and communities. My work is centered on building strong therapeutic relationships and promoting resilience and healing.
Golden Gate University School of Law, law, 2015 — While in law school, my primary focus was primarily on public interest and family law with a particular emphasis on underrepresented and marginalized individuals and groups. Afterward, I practiced both criminal defense and employment law.
Virginia Tech, Bachelor of Science, Psychology/Human Development, 2012 — I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Development, where I gained a strong foundation in understanding behavior, mental health, and the social factors that shape growth across the lifespan.
Work HistoryMy background has given me the chance to support people in many different settings — from hospitals and medical centers to community programs and private practice. Working in pediatric and adult hospital units taught me how to provide calm, focused care in times of crisis. My time in outpatient counseling centers helped me build strong skills in evidence-based therapies and in tailoring treatment to each person’s needs. Running my own practice has given me the flexibility to create a safe, welcoming space where clients feel heard and supported. Together, these experiences allow me to meet people where they are, understand the unique challenges they face, and help them find practical, compassionate ways forward.
